Hotels turning sleeping rooms into remote workspaces
Meetingsbooker.com, the global leader in online meeting room bookings has carried out a worldwide hotel survey to see how the industry is reacting to the current Covid-19 virus outbreak.
A key trend in the findings is that most hotels (91% of respondents) are considering repurposing some of their sleeping rooms as workspaces. As bedroom occupancy will remain low in the short term, there is a new demand emerging for people to source safe, private workspaces they can use outside of their home. The survey revealed that over 37% of hotels have already had specific requests for this service from clients. While social distancing and the reduction of large gatherings will remain for the medium term, large corporations to even small enterprises are looking for alternative ways of meeting and working in this new reality.
Meetingsbooker.com have upgraded their whitelabel booking solution to better service this need and are beginning to roll it out to their hotel partners. The system sells smaller meeting spaces alongside suites and bedrooms for remote working. You can book the room by the hour and even order food to the room. Hotels can now sell this offering directly from their own website with a fast set up and design process.
Commenting on the research, Ciaran Delaney CEO and founder of Meetingsbooker.com said; “These are challenging times for the industry but we’re starting to see alternative usage of hotel spaces as an emerging trend. I think the main feedback from our hotel partners is they are open to innovation and our whitelabel workspace solution provides an interesting ancillary revenue opportunity.”
